Ring Mechanisms |
If you are after a ring mechanism we can supply. The ring mechanisms we stock are available in various lengths, capacities and ring designs. For an unusual mechanism that is not normally a stock item, we are happy to source this for you. If you require gold plated or coloured mechanisms, we also offer a plating and powder coating service. Ring designs include: |
“D” rings are mounted on the back cover of the binder with the vertical side of the D facing away from the spine. The advantage of the D is that all the pages sit neatly when you open the folder. Because the weight of the pages is not pulling against the open section of the ring they are regarded as being more sturdy and are the most popular style of mechanism used in this market. |

|
“R” rings are designed for people fixing the ring to the spine of a binder. They are also referred to as “O” rings or “Round” rings and are not as common in use here in New Zealand as the “D” rings. |

|
"Q” mechanisms have commonly been used in catalogues where the end user is wanting to open the catalogue and have the pages on both sides of the ring sitting squarely. They have been particularly popular in large capacity applications where there is a large weight on the ring. As a result we stock a 65mm capacity mechanism which has an extra rivet hole in the centre to provide additional strength in the fastening. |
